Proper Perspective.

There is nothing like a funeral to put my life in perspective and make me truly understand how grateful I am for all that I have.  A young life was taken from family friends of ours on Valentines day.  Ben was one of 5 brothers, 25 years old with everything going for him.  He had a beautiful wife, 3 wonderful children, a ranch with horses, and a strong profession.  He was full of life and pushed himself hard to get what he wanted out of life.  He was full of life!  Now he is gone.

As my car broke down on the side of the highway today, and I sat waiting 2 hours for a tow truck that was to take 30 minutes, I was getting a bit freaked out about how I was going to pay for more repairs.  Then I thought about the funeral on Saturday, and how my current trials were not trials at all.  My car would eventually get fixed and life would continue to go on.  My children and grandchildren were all safe and healthy.  To me, nothing else is as important as that.  I can't even begin to understand what Ben's mom is going through.  I hope I never have to.
