I thought I would follow Mr. Mckee's example and post my personal requirements. So here they are;
Do 1000 meditative sun salutations.
Sun salutations are a sequence of yoga moves that you perform with breath. They are like doing awakening the dragon, but with the benefit of gaining flexibility, and increasing movement in the joints. Calming my mind is very important to me, and so is keeping my joints moving and well lubricated, especially with the arthritis that runs through my body. This requirement will help me a lot with both of these things.
Climb 3 mountains
My favorite place is the outdoors. Climbing to the top ridge of a mountain is exhilarating for me. Not only does it provide a feeling of accomplishment, but it provides a feeling of connection with everything around me. There's nothing in the world like it.
Build 20 bird houses and 10 bathouses.
I have wanted to buy a good camera for years now, but it's never in my budget. I also love working with wood, and bird watching has become a passion of mine. So I have combined the 3. I have already sold a few bird houses, and have been inspired by family to build more and sell in a summers farmers market in BC this year.
Complete 10, 000 squats
Ummm. Squats have their advantages. :)
Take a photography course.
I have wanted to do this for over 20 years, and never have. This year I am going to. I love photography, and experimenting with what I see through the lense. My favorite subjects are anything in nature, and grandchildren. Grandchildren in nature is the ultimate!
Do something I've never done, 12 times, and journal about it.
Stepping outside the box helps me to get over some shadows, or fears that inhibit me from progressing forward with personal growth. These challenges don't have to be huge, but can be anything from trying a new food I would normally never eat, to attending a meditation retreat all by myself for 4 days. Surrounded by people I've never met before. AAAAHHHHHH. That's scarey, and I'm doing that in April.
Learn something new once a week.
I have a thirst for learning, and there is so much out there for me to learn. This can be somethingas as easy as learning a new word to add to my vocabulary, to researching about a countries culture.
Well, that's it. I have some great opportunities ahead of me, and I'm so looking forward to them.
