Outside that Box We Call Comfort Zone.

Part of my yearly requirements are that I step outside the box and reach away from my comfort zone 12 times this year, and journal about them.  For the month of June I attended a webinar with Planet Dharma called 'Path of Ecstacy-Following Your Bliss'.  It was every Monday for the month of June for an hour and a half.  There were about 25 participants online and a small group in attendance at the Clear Sky retreat in Bull River, near Kimberly.

Even though it was online, this was still outside of my comfort zone.  It was something that I had never done before, and I had no idea what to expect.  Financially it was easy.  They accept dana, (generosity), which is a donation in any amount a person can afford.  My concern though, was that they would ask me a question or for input on a specific topic.  That to me, is terrifying.  I'm a beginner with practicing  meditation, enlightenment and with searching for a blissful type of lifestyle.  I did not want to be faced with trying to put together an answer for something I did not know.  Then there was having my face on the screen with everyone elses, for everyone to see.  Yuck!  But in the end, it wasn't at all that bad.

Dean, my foster brother, who was in the audience at Clear Sky said I looked real nervous and tense at the first session. No doubt.  But after that, I had a good feel for how things would be and realized that there was no pressure to actually participate verbally.  I got to just sit in the comfort of my own home and enjoy the discussion.  I enjoyed it a lot, and learned some new things.  I have even enrolled in the next webinar that they are putting on in October. It's about relationships, and the energy and awareness that can come with them.  I'm looking forward to it.
